Royal Visit to the palace

Caterpillar class went to visit Buckingham Palace. We have been doing some wonderful royal work. Just look at our portraits don't we look royally grand!?

The Gruffalo!

I This week our learning activities will be based around the story of, "The Gruffalo". 

We could retell the story of, "The Gruffalo" in our small world play.

We have enjoyed playing in our "Gruffalo" role play area.

We used pegs to make prickles on the Gruffalos back!

We made our own Gruffalo using play dough and other materials. 

This weeks Number Focus. 

Every week we will focus on a special number. This weeks number focus is the number 1. 

We watched the Number 1 song on Numtums on CBeebies. 

Amelia showed us how to write the number 1 on a whiteboard. 

Karen asked us to collect 1 of different objects in the classroom.

Zachary collected 1 orange Pom Pom and Macie collected 1 green Pom Pom. 

Some of us were Number Detectives and looked for number 1s hidden around the classroom. 

We enjoyed our first Nursery trip to, "The Gruffalo Woods" in Essex.

We travelled to the woods on a double decker bus. It was a rainy day however we had a great day out and enjoyed walking through the muddy puddles!  At the woods the Rangers helped us to find all of the characters from The Gruffalo story. 

A big thank you to all of the grown ups who joined us on our trip.

Ladybirds at the Royal Mews

Today the Ladybird Class took our first trip together into London to visit the Royal Mews.  This is where the Queen keeps all her carriages and cars.

The Queen's special carriage that she used for her coronation and for the 50th Jubilee (we found out that the previous carriage was not finished in time).  

The children had a great day!!

This week in Bumble Bee Class .....

This week our learning activities will be based around the story, "Goldilocks and the Three Bears"

On Monday we listened to the story. 

On Tuesday we had to take an object from the feely bag and name it and talk about what part of the story it was from. 

I think this was Mummy Bears bowl it had porridge in.

We have enjoyed retelling the story in our Three Bears Cottage role play area.

We enjoyed listening to Macie read us the story.

Goldilocks and the Three Bears small world play.

Linked to the story we organised objects by size and used language to describe them. 

Big and little.

We chose different outfits to dress Mummy, Daddy and Baby Bear.

On the interactive whiteboard we helped the Three Bears to get dressed making sure they had the right sized clothes.

In our water tray we used ladles to scoop porridge into the saucepans and bowls!

We enjoyed scooping porridge into little pots at the Fine Motor table.

This week in Bumble Bee Class ..........

This week at Nursery our learning activities will be based around the story, "Peace At Last" by Jill Murphy. 

We enjoyed listening to the story and joining in with the sounds which Mr Bear heard. 

"The clock went tick tock"

We made patterns in paint to make a bedspread for Mr and Mrs Large. 

We made nighttime pictures using star and plane stickers.

On Tuesday we helped Karen to dress her teddy bear called Beramy. He didn't know how to put his clothes on!

We helped to dress a teddy bear on the interactive white board.

We had to click and drag the clothes onto the bear using the white board pen.
