This week is Shakepeare Week and in Nursery the children will be watching a simple cartoon adaptation of the story, "A Midsummer Nights Dream". Our role play area will be an enchanted forest where the children can create their own magical adventures. Many of our classroom activities will be flower themed related to the magical flower in the story.
We used our imaginations to make up our own stories in our enchanted forest role play area.

"The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle.
We acted out the life cycle of a butterfly!
An egg on a leaf
A caterpillar comes out an egg.
They spin a cocoon around them for their home.
They become a butterfly and fly away!
Bailey has made a cocoon for Chloe!
At the Writing Area we drew our own caterpillars and recalled events from the story.
At the Messy Area table we made caterpillars using play dough!

On the interactive whiteboard we ordered numbers on a caterpillars back from 1-5.

We have enjoyed playing in our new role play area which is a Fruit and Vegetable Shop.

The letter sounds we will be learning this week are e and u.
Elijah and Emel enjoyed taking Bob Bee home and finding things beginning with the sound 'e'
Maths Focus: -
This week we will be assessing the children's counting skills and number recognition through practical activities.
Jesse is counting fruit which the very hungry caterpillar ate.
