Bumble Bee Class week beginning 27.06.16

This week our learning activities will be based on the story,

"The Train Ride " by June Crebbin

The children will be encouraged to recall the story settings, characters and events from the story.

On Tuesday we made story maps recalling characters, settings and events from the story.

Patterning trains at the writing area.

Working together to build a train track.

Making train prints in the messy area!

We made our own train pictures.

All aboard!

Maths Focus: -
This week the children will be using their careful counting skills to count objects up to 10 and beyond. They will also be encouraged to use the language 'more' and 'fewer' to compare sets of objects and to find the total number of objects in 2 groups by counting all of them.

Practising the formation of numbers at the maths area table.

Balloon Pop on the IWB!

We practised our number writing on the interactive whiteboard.

We made telephone numbers for some of our favourite TV and film characters. We then wrote them down and telephoned them!

Phonics Focus: -
This week we have revisited sounds, learning to link sounds to letters and say them at speed.
Phoneme Pop!

Ladybirds independent writing

We have been having a go at independent writing at the tables, using lots of the skills we have learnt over our first year at school.

We are trying to remember out ABC card rules when writing:

Excellent concentration.

Discussion before recording our sentence ideas.

Reading over our work.

Using class resources to aid descriptive witing.

Beautiful collaboration.
