Super learning in Caterpillar Class!

Image result for super learners

We have been doing lots of fantastic learning in Caterpillar Class this week! We have all been super learners!

In maths we have been exploring money and what it's called and looks like.
Mrs Shepherd even gave us the challenge of making different amounts using different coins!

We have also been using the Numicon to make and write number sentences.
Can you work out the answers to the problems above?

At the end of last week, Megan's mummy, Mrs Bryant, brought in their butterflies which they had been keeping at home. Guess what? They used to be caterpillars! We got to keep them all morning and got to watch them up close.
We had great fun talking about the butterfly life cycle and it finished off our mini beast topic fantastically!

Click on the link below to play a game about the butterfly life cycle.

This week, we had our very last Forest School session. We all got a special certificate to say we have successfully completed it - well done Caterpillars!

When we come back to school after the half term holiday, we are going to begin our transition process into Year 1. More information will follow for parents.

Congratulations to Harry and Megan!

Have a look below at the some of the different things we did to celebrate the Royal Wedding!

We had a very posh afternoon tea, just like the queen!

We made Union Jack flags for our picnic.
We even made cupcakes, as gifts for the new couple!

We had our own 'royal weddings' in our role play area
And of course a Royal tea party after to celebrate!

We wrote cards to the new happy couple!

In the afternoon, we had a picnic with the rest of the school on the playing field.
We had such great fun!

Gymnastics!

The reception children over the last few weeks have had gymnastic sessions led by Caroline our school gymnastic coach.

The children completed an energetic warm up session and were then shown how to correctly perform a forward roll and sausage roll! The children all thoroughly enjoyed exploring all of the gymnastic equipment in the hall and as instructed did not stop moving!

A big thank you to Caroline and her team and we looking forward to more gymnastic sessions when we move up to Year One!

Growing!

This term we have been learning about plants.

For a homework activity we found out what plants need to grow and presented our findings in these creative ways!

All of the children planted a bean at school. We are hoping they grow very tall - just like Jack's in the "Jack and the Beanstalk Story"

Now we have taken our bean home we will continue to look after it and observe and record the changes as it grows.
