Den Day

The children watched a video about a little girl called Anna-Mae. Her home had been washed away in a typhoon, and the children wanted to do something to help children like Anna-Mae. You can watch the video on YouTube.com, by searching for 'Anna-Mae - Typhoon Haiyan Phillipines'.

The children are all taking part in sponsored 'den days', where they will be raising money for Save the Children, who help children like Anna-Mae.

We used material, sticks, rope, string, pegs & whatever else we could get our hands on to create different dens at Forest School.

In the camouflage den, we could lay down and watch the clouds moving across the sky.

Oliver told us that "you have to have the secret password to go into our den, it's 'forest school'"
Can you see the secret den on the secret path?

Some children even had a camp fire & toasted pretend marshmallows. Mmmm delicious.

When they were finished, we had hot chocolate, a biscuit and a story in our very own dens.

Friday morning was a little stormy, so Ladybird class worked together to create a den under the shelter outside their classroom.

The children made flags, signs and an enormous banner for the den.

There was a very realistic camp fire.

And of course, yummy hot chocolate and a story to finish the morning off.
