The Very Hungry Caterpillar

Our learning activities at Nursery this week will be based around the story, The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.

On Monday Diane read the story to us.

On Tuesday we helped Karen to retell the story using the pictures on the story board to help us.

We made some fantastic caterpillars using play dough!

My caterpillar is very long!

We have used different media and materials to create caterpillar pictures.
These caterpillar pictures were made using tissue paper, straws and paint.

We used our finger prints to make a caterpillar picture like one in the story.

We learnt about the life cycle of a butterfly and clicked on the pictures on the interactive white board to put them into the correct order.

For our maths activities we sorted and counted fruits. Some of us also added two groups of fruits together and recorded the total.

I have 5 bananas.

0 plus 5 equals 5

Harry and Sue made this butterfly together using the Kid-K-Nex!

Haden wrote his very own The Very Hungry Caterpillar story and read it to the rest of the class!

On the interactive white board we used the pen to click on the paint pots to copy and paint the butterflies and caterpillars the correct colours.

On Wednesday, we looked for signs of caterpillars at Forest School......and we found some!
