This weeks classroom activities will be themed around the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations.
The children will be learning about the Queen and will listen to story books based on imaginary adventures of the Queen. The stories will include, "The Queen's Knickers", "Where's My Crown?" and "Peppa Meets The Queen".
At the Writing Area we carefully traced patterns on the Queen's royal dress.
We have enjoyed playing in our Royal Garden Party role play area.
Kaelin has painted this fantastic portrait of the Queen.
On Tuesday we listened to the story, "Where's My Crown?" We then made our own royal crowns!
Our Maths Focus: -
Our Maths focus this week will be shape. The children will be learning to talk about the shape of everyday objects and will use names for 'flat' 2D shapes and begin to use mathematical terms to describe them. For example naming the number of sides and corners each shape has.
We made shapes using playdough cutters.
I have made pancakes the top one is a circle shape.
On our new interactive whiteboard we played a matching colour and shape game.
In the water tray we had to match the shapes on the turtles shell to their back.
Our Phonics Focus: -
The letter sound which the children will be learning this week is 'x'
We enjoyed our percussion activities this week at nursery. We had to follow the conductor cards to know when to start, stop and play loudly and quietly.
