Bumblebees are amazing!

This week we have started learning about what makes us special. We talked a lot about the names for different parts of our bodies and how we are the same and different. To help us with our learning, we had a visit from Mr Bones:

Mr Bones showed us the different bones he and we all have in our bodies and taught us the song Dem Bones. On a different day, he sent us 2 parcels to help us learn about our senses and we had a go at listening to different sounds and smelling different fruit to guess what they were. We also felt and smelled different natural materials that Mr Bones found at forest school and talked about their textures.

We learned different songs to help us remember the names of different body parts and played games where we had to use our sense of hearing to guess the animal.

We used our sense of touch to build lots of different models and to count different things on the maths table:

And just look at how fantastic our busy fingers were when we tried to put screws in place, to put hats on little people and to cut out pictures of our favourite fruit!

Outside, we enjoyed mark-making, pretending to be the police and riding bikes, trikes and scooters.

We liked climbing, car chases and, by the end of it all, relaxing with a nice book!
