Space!

This week at nursery we will be learning all about space!

We watched a space clip on You Tube and saw what planet Earth looks like from space.
We live on Earth, it's a circle shape. Astronauts go to space in a ship that goes flying up into space. Tohan
Before rockets go into space some people say, "54321 Blast off!" Then the rocket blasts off and zooms into space. Astronauts go into space and and they look at all the things in space and land on the moon. Alice

We enjoyed playing with the space station small world toys.

At the easel we painted some space pictures.
I have painted a rocket zooming into space!

My rocket has the number 1 and 2 next to it.

Alice used pastels to draw this lovely space picture.

Using different construction materials we have made rockets.

My rocket doors open for people to get in and the fuel goes at the bottom.

On Monday we were busy at Nursery making things for our new Space Station role play area.
Using pipettes and paint we made a space background.
I have made a shooting star.

We collaged pieces of paper onto a circle shape to make a big planet Earth.

Here is our finished Space Station role play area!

For our maths activities this week we will be learning to recognise and order numbers.

This is our finished rocket number ordering display!

We ordered rockets in order from 1-10 on the interactive white board.

We counted the correct number of astronauts to match the number on the planet Earth.
I'm going to put them in a line and count to 10.

In the Writing Area many of us have been practising how to write our names recognisably and using the correct sequence of movements.
"I'm doing a space walk, these are the stars, the tree is earth, over there is Jupiter & that's Saturn"
