The children have retold the story and played imaginatively in our traditional tales cottage.
They have painted some lovely textured bears (with porridge paint!)
We investigated and described the dry ingredients of porridge
"It's dry" "it's like snow" The sugar is "sparkly".
"It feels soft".
Then tasted the delicious porridge when it was cooked.
It tasted 'Just right'.
In our maths focus we have been measuring and learning the language of 'size'.
"The little bear is 7 cubes tall".
The children sorted props from the story by size. They thought of lots of different words to describe them.
"Enormous, ginormous, gigantic, big, tall, too big, wide, massive, really big."
Isabella taught us the Romanian word for big - "mare".
"Medium, middle sized."
"Tiny, small, little, smaller, littler, a baby one".
Our phonics sounds this week are 'c' and 'k'.
