Bumblebees visit to the Butterfly Jungle

Following on from our work around Eric Carle's 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar', the children this week visited the 'Butterfly Jungle' at Hall Place.

The children enjoyed the bus journey, with several renditions of 'The wheels on the Bus'.

While they were waiting to see the butterflies, the children used some spotter sheets to find some of the things in the garden.

A friendly goose came to say "hello"!

The children found some unusual shaped trees, they could see "a rectangle, a diamond and a triangle".

Inside the butterfly house it was very hot and humid, so a little tricky to photograph the butterflies).

The children were able to see all of the stages in the life cycle of a butterfly,

Eggs and caterpillars.

Chrysalises.

And some beautiful butterflies.

We would like to thank all of the parents who helped out and made this trip possible.
