Bumblebee class week beginning 6/2/17

This week we are learning about rainbows, and will be taking part in lots of colourful activities.
Our phonics focus this week will be the sounds 'm' and 'd'.

The children experimented by mixing primary colours together (using their hands!)

Blue and yellow make green

Red and blue make purple.

Red and yellow make orange.

They used the interactive whiteboard to draw rainbows.

"Over, under". The children have been carefully weaving rainbow colours.

Tuesday 7th February was 'Safer Internet Day'. #SID2017

The children shared an online story about Smartie The Penguin and his new tablet. They talked about making safe choices when using the Internet, and what they should do if something unusual happened while they were online. The children learned Mummy Penguins song to help them remember what to do.

'Before you tap and click,
You need to stop and think,
and TELL someone.'

The children talked to each other about keeping safe on the Internet

They had some great ideas...

Megan said "Sometimes I put it on by myself and it doesn't go wrong. If it does go wrong I will ask a grown-up."

Violet said "You have to click on the x, or ask a grown-up"

Corey suggested "Smartie should ask his parents to help because he doesn't know what to do. He could ask Mummy or Daddy or Nanny or Grandad."

William thought that Smartie should "ask for help", and Josefsaid that "there may may be not safe people".
