Bumble Bee Class week beginning 16.05.16

This week our theme will be,
Dinosaurs!

We will be introducing this weeks theme through the story,
"Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs"
We recalled characters and events from the story.

We washed and cleaned dinosaurs just like Harry did in the story!

The children will learn the names and information about the dinosaurs in the story  using
non-fiction books and the internet.

Macie and Jesse bought into nursery dinosaur nonfiction books to share with their friends.

We found out that there was a dinosaur called a Gigantasaurus!

Throughout the week the children will be making their own dinosaurs using different media and materials.

We made dinosaur bone pictures.

Maths Focus: -
The children will continue their careful counting activities and will investigate to find out the number of dinosaurs they can fit inside their own bucket. They will also be recording number, learning how to record numbers recognisably.

William has 5 dinosaurs in his bucket.

Number writing in sand.

The children will also be encouraged to use language related to capacity. For example, full, half full and empty.

Karen's bucket is empty

Karen's bucket is full

Karen's bucket is half full

Can you describe the amount of water in each bucket?

Sponsored Bounce!
We enjoyed bouncing on the bouncy castle to raise money for school.

Some of us had never been on a bouncy castle before so wanted some help (Sue didn't mind helping!)

Well done to everybody who took part and a big thank you to the parents association for organising it and helping us.
