Ladybird Class WB: 16.01.2017

We began the week with the story of 'Jack Frost by Kazuno Kohara.

The children have been producing some lovely images linked to the story using wax resist and a blue watercolour wash.

Creating our background for our artwork.

We have been using dominos to count the total of 2 groups to form addition number sentences.
Here children are sorting the dominos into the numbered domino carpark.

We reinforced our careful counting of 2 groups and putting them together to find the total or what it equals (=), at the table with an adult.

The children are still using their 3D shape vocabulary and using cubes, cuboids and cylinders to construct their own towns and train loads.
Lovely concentration from Jacob K looking at how high he can make his tower with cylinders and cubes.

We have enjoyed yet another successful PE session where children worked in pairs to perform some different dynamic moves.

Chloe G and Kayra worked well together to communicate their ideas by joining hands and twisting under them.  a more complicated move than you think!!
Well done girls.

Some great relaxing mindful time demonstrated as the children think about their breathing and their next step in what they want to achieve for the day.

Some children had a go at constructing a snowflake using our octoplay shapes.

In the ICT suite we made a snowman. We used the mouse to click, hold and drag objectsTo play the game at home please follow this link: -

'It is a little tricky to click and hold, but fun to try making the snowman.'

'I have used a carrot nose and a red hat for my snowman.'
